Email spam checker

Send your email to a one-time test address. We run it through SpamAssassin, check SPF, DKIM, DMARC, reverse DNS and blocklists, and tell you exactly what to fix.

You get a one-time address. Send your real email to it, exactly as your recipients would get it: same account, same tool, same template.

What the spam test checks

CheckWhy it matters
SpamAssassin scoreThe open-source filter used by countless mail servers, with over 1,000 rules
SPFIs the sending server allowed to send for your domain?
DKIMIs the message signed with your domain and unchanged?
DMARCDoes your domain publish a policy, and does the message pass it?
Reverse DNSDoes the sending server have a proper host name?
BlocklistsIs the sending IP or a linked domain listed as a spam source?
List-UnsubscribeOne-click unsubscribe, required by Gmail and Yahoo for bulk senders
Content and HTMLPlain-text version, image-to-text ratio, links, size

The most common reasons emails land in spam

  1. No DKIM signature with your own domain. Set up domain authentication at your email service (it publishes DKIM keys for your domain).
  2. No DMARC record. Start with v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com; check it with the DMARC checker.
  3. SPF does not include the sending service, or needs more than 10 lookups (SPF checker).
  4. Sending from a server without reverse DNS or from a home connection.
  5. Image-only emails, link shorteners and missing plain-text versions.
  6. Sending to old or purchased lists. Bounces and spam traps ruin your reputation; validate your list first.

Every rule the test can show is explained in the SpamAssassin rules reference.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if my email will go to spam?

Click “Get a test address”, send your real email to it from the account and tool you normally use (Gmail, Outlook, Mailchimp, your app), and wait a few seconds. The report shows the SpamAssassin score and every problem with a fix.

What is a good SpamAssassin score?

Below 2 is good, below 0 is excellent. At 5.0 SpamAssassin classifies a message as spam by default. Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo use their own filters, but the same problems (missing authentication, blocklisted servers, spammy content) hurt there too.

Why test with a real email instead of pasting text?

Most spam signals are in how the email is sent: the sending server, its reverse DNS, SPF, DKIM signatures and headers. Only a real delivery shows them. If you cannot send, paste the full message source (“Show original” in Gmail) instead.

Is the test free? What happens to my email?

Yes. Each test address accepts one message within two hours. We keep the analysis (score, rules, headers summary) for seven days so you can share the link, and never store the message body.

Does a good score guarantee inbox placement?

No test can guarantee it: Gmail and Microsoft also weigh your sending reputation and how recipients engage with your mail. But fixing everything this test flags removes the most common reasons for spam placement.
