How to set up IC-NET in a mail app

  1. Choose add account → manual setup (or "other account") in your mail app.
  2. Enter your full IC-NET email address and password.
  3. Pick POP3 for incoming mail and enter the server, port and security from the table above.
  4. Enter the SMTP server for outgoing mail (smtp.ic-net.or.jp, port 587) and enable authentication with the same login.

If the login keeps failing, enable IMAP/POP access in the IC-NET web settings and use an app password if your account uses two-step verification.

IC-NET email settings: FAQ

What is the IC-NET SMTP server?

The outgoing (SMTP) server of IC-NET is smtp.ic-net.or.jp, port 587 with None (unencrypted). Log in with your part before the @.

Why does my IC-NET login fail in a mail app?

Most providers block plain password logins from mail apps when two-step verification is on. Create an app-specific password in your account's security settings, or use an app that supports OAuth sign-in. Also check that IMAP or POP access is enabled in the webmail settings.
