Email server settings

Hostinger SMTP settings, IMAP and POP3

The Hostinger SMTP settings are smtp.hostinger.com, port 465 with SSL, or port 587 with TLS/STARTTLS if SSL causes trouble. Incoming mail uses imap.hostinger.com on port 993. The user name is your full email address; with two-factor authentication on, use an app password.

Hostinger email IMAP and SMTP settings explained

The values are from Hostinger’s configuration details and its devices guide. In hPanel you find them under Emails → Manage (next to your domain) → Connect Apps & Devices.

  • Prefer IMAP over POP3. Hostinger’s devices guide marks POP3 as “not recommended”.
  • Port 465 first. SSL on 465 is the standard; if your app has encryption problems, use 587 with TLS or STARTTLS.

Turn on automatic email app setup

With automatic setup, mail apps find the settings from the email address alone. It needs two CNAME records:

Name (CNAME)Points to
autodiscoverautodiscover.mail.hostinger.com
autoconfigautoconfig.mail.hostinger.com

If your DNS is at Hostinger, the Connect Apps & Devices page adds them for you; otherwise create them at your DNS provider. The page then shows a status check for both records.

Titan Email at Hostinger

Some Hostinger customers have Titan Email instead. Its servers are imap.titan.email (993, SSL/TLS), pop.titan.email (995, SSL/TLS) and smtp.titan.email (465 with SSL or 587 with STARTTLS) (Hostinger).

Hostinger app passwords

Hostinger’s devices guide asks for an app password when the mailbox uses two-factor authentication or the app doesn’t support the regular login. An app password gives full access to the mailbox (Hostinger):

  1. Open Emails in the Hostinger dashboard and select the domain.
  2. Click Mailboxes in the left sidebar.
  3. Click the options button (⋮) next to the mailbox and choose App passwords.
  4. Click Generate, enter a name for the app and click Generate again.
  5. Click Copy. The password is shown only once.

Enter your email address and the app password where the app asks for the mailbox password. To revoke one, click the trash icon next to it; access for that app ends immediately, and the main password and other app passwords keep working. Your email plan must support app passwords.

Set up Hostinger email in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird

  • Guided setup: the Connect Apps & Devices page in hPanel walks you through Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail on mobile. For Apple devices it offers a configuration profile to download by QR code or link.
  • Outlook, Thunderbird and other apps: with automatic setup on, entering the address and password is enough. Otherwise choose IMAP and enter imap.hostinger.com (993, SSL/TLS) and smtp.hostinger.com (465, SSL/TLS), with the full address as the user name on both servers.
  • WordPress plugins and contact forms: use smtp.hostinger.com, port 465 with SSL, and the full address and password (or an app password) of a mailbox on your domain.

Mail apps don’t find the settings automaticallyTurn on automatic email app setup and check that both CNAME records show as working on the Connect Apps & Devices page.

For bounces from recipients’ servers, see the SMTP error codes and the difference between a hard vs. soft bounce.

Hostinger email sending limits

Hostinger Business EmailMessages per dayRecipients per message
Starter1,000100
Standard3,000100
Premium3,000100
Free trials (30-day and 1-year)100100 (same as Starter)
Legacy free Business Email100100

The daily rate is per mailbox, counted over a rolling 24 hours, and applies separately to incoming and outgoing mail. Outgoing messages can be up to 35 MB including attachments, with 25 MB for attachments; incoming messages up to 50 MB (Hostinger). Hostinger says it may change these limits; the Emails section of the dashboard shows the current values. Before a mailing, a bulk email verifier keeps dead addresses from using up the quota.

Which domains use Hostinger Email?

Hostinger Email runs on your own domain (jane@example.org); hostinger.com only appears in the server names. To see where a domain’s mail goes, use the MX lookup. Before you send from a new domain, publish an SPF record and a DMARC record so recipients can verify your mail.
