How to set up aikis in a mail app

  1. Choose add account → manual setup (or "other account") in your mail app.
  2. Enter your full aikis email address and password.
  3. Pick POP3 for incoming mail and enter the server, port and security from the table above.
  4. Enter the SMTP server for outgoing mail (mail.aikis.or.jp, port 587) and enable authentication with the same login.

If the login keeps failing, enable IMAP/POP access in the aikis web settings and use an app password if your account uses two-step verification.

aikis email settings: FAQ

What is the aikis SMTP server?

The outgoing (SMTP) server of aikis is mail.aikis.or.jp, port 587 with STARTTLS. Log in with your part before the @.

Why does my aikis login fail in a mail app?

Most providers block plain password logins from mail apps when two-step verification is on. Create an app-specific password in your account's security settings, or use an app that supports OAuth sign-in. Also check that IMAP or POP access is enabled in the webmail settings.
