In AOL’s contract summary for AOL Mail, the provider is AOL Media LLC in New York, and the service is described as a personal email service “offered at no cost”. AOL publishes that summary for users in the European Union. Yahoo, which owned AOL until it agreed to sell it to Bending Spoons in October 2025, used to publish the same summary with a Yahoo company as the provider.

DNS shows the same picture. The single MX record of aol.com is mx-aol.mail.gm0.yahoodns.net, a host in Yahoo’s mail network. verizon.net uses the very same host, because former Verizon addresses now live at AOL Mail (see the verizon.net profile).
