Where Bouncer is stronger
- Credits that never expire. Buy 100,000 once and use them over two years. Our plans are monthly allowances.
- Unknown results are always free. Bouncer doesn’t charge for
unknownresults on any check. Ours are free too, on single checks and in bulk jobs, but only within a fair-use allowance. - EU hosting. Bouncer’s pricing page says it is hosted in the EU. Our checks run on our own servers in Germany, but requests reach them through Cloudflare, which also stores uploaded lists. Our Hosting page lists where each kind of data is kept.
- More native integrations. Bouncer’s integrations page lists 25 apps, including Klaviyo, MailerLite, lemlist and Pipedrive. We connect through the Zapier integration, the API and the MCP server.
- A
riskystatus and toxicity data. Catch-all, full-mailbox and disposable addresses get their own status. Its API documentation also showstoxicandtoxicityfields. - Deliverability tools. Test emails and IP/domain monitoring are available as an add-on. We have a free email spam checker, which is not the same thing.
Where emailvalidation.io is the better fit
Monthly volume costs less. At 5,000 checks a month, Bouncer credits cost $35 and our Small plan $9.99. At 25,000, our Medium plan is $34.99; Bouncer has no 25,000 pack; the nearest are 10,000 for $60 and 50,000 for $250. At 100,000, it’s $94.99 against $400. The full table is on our email validation API pricing page.
Bulk jobs built for automation. POST /v1/bulk takes up to 100,000 addresses as a JSON array or a CSV/TXT file. When the job is done, you get one signed webhook (HMAC-SHA256) and download JSON or a CSV with your original columns plus 18 result columns. A failed job is refunded in full, and deleting a job refunds the addresses not yet verified. Large lists can take a day or longer, because checks are paced per receiving mail server. Our email list cleaning service page shows the steps.
Catch-all checks on request. Catch-all addresses come back as deliverable with the reason low_deliverability, so you can treat them separately; the catch_all field needs catch_all=1. Read what a catch-all email is before deciding whether to mail them.
An API for code paths. Each response from the email validation API has 21 fields, including reason, recommended_action, score and did_you_mean; only definitive results (deliverable or undeliverable) count against your quota.
What you give up compared with Bouncer: credits that never expire, free unknown results without a fair-use cap, more native integrations, and the add-on deliverability tools.
Moving from Bouncer
Bouncer status | emailvalidation.io state |
|---|---|
deliverable | deliverable |
risky, reason low_ | deliverable, reason low_ |
undeliverable (rejected_email, invalid_domain, invalid_email) | undeliverable (invalid_mailbox, invalid_mx, invalid_format) |
unknown (timeout, unavailable_smtp) | unknown (timeout, unavailable_smtp) |
The reason names are close, so most mapping is a lookup table. For the other fields: Bouncer’s acceptAll: yes becomes our catch_all: true (with catch_all=1); disposable, role and free keep their names but are true/false instead of yes/no/unknown; and score runs from 0 to 1 instead of 0 to 100.
